Highgate Cemeteryn synkempi puoli lähes kokonaan mustavalkoisissa kuvissa. Synkistä asioista puheenollen, osaan tehdä monista asioista itselle aivan liian vaikeita. Otetaan tähän nyt esimerkiksi kuvien valitseminen postaukseen ja niiden järjestäminen tiettyyn järjestykseen. Voin tehdä sitä vaikka tunnin, koska kuvien on omissa silmissä sovittava jotenkin saumattomasti yhteen. Joo-o, välillä on rankkaa olla perfektionisti. Ihan itseään saa syyttää. Lisää kuvia hautausmaalta täällä. Siellä on melko paljon niitä, jotka eivät minun mielestäni vain jostain syystä sopineet muiden joukkoon.

The darker side of the Highgate Cemetery captured in photographs mostly void of colour. Speaking of dark, I always make most things too hard for me. Like, just choosing photos for posts and arranging them in a certain order is an ordeal because they have to match each other in my eyes. Oh yes, sometimes it's very hard to be a perfectionist. You can see more pictures from the cemetery here. There's quite a lot of those that just didn't fit well with the others, in my eyes.

Pupulandian Jenni oli käynyt katsastamassa Marimekon sisustus-syksyä, ja sillä sekunnilla kun silmäni osuivat tuohon kuvaan Oodi-kankaasta tiesin haluavani sitä johonkin tarkoitukseen! Sitä saa värillisen lisäksi myös mustavalkoisena. Marimekolla on nykyään niin paljon kaikkia ihania kankaita, että valinnan tekeminen on silkkaa tuskaa, kun haluaisi vaikka mitä.

 

Jenni from Pupulandia just showed us a preview of Marimekko's this year's fall interior decoration. The second I laid my eyes on this "Oodi"-fabric I knew I wanted it for something! Maybe for a pillow cover. Marimekko has so many lovely fabrics these days that it's pure torture to decide on something because you wan't more than you can have.

Take Me Through The Roads That You Know

Perjantaiaamuna hurautettiin metrolla Archwayn asemalle ja käveltiin Highgaten hautausmaalle. Siinä paikassa on kuulkaa jotain taikaa, sillä aurinko paistoi ja lämmitti meitä ihanan siniseltä taivaalta suurimman osan ajasta. Joka kerta kun olen vieraillut Highgaten hautausmaalla, aina on paistanut aurinko. Otetaan tässä siis nyt huomioon se, että matkan ajaksi oli luvattu vain pilvistä säätä, hieman sadetta sekä jopa lunta. Eipä onneksi näkynyt sadetta eikä lunta. Aurinko tosin ei paistanut joka päivä vaan suurimman osan matkasta säätilaa hallitsi pilvinen taivas ja pirun kylmä tuuli. Viis niistä, matka oli kylmyydestä huolimatta todella onnistunut. Tulevina päivinä on vielä luvassa kuvia hautausmaalta, Lontoon yöelämästä, Portobello Roadilta sekä Brick Lanen & Spitalfieldsin marketeilta.

Friday we took the tube to Archway station and walked to Highgate Cemetery. And you know there's just some magic around Highgate because the sun was shining and warming us most of the time. It's always been sunny when I've been there. In the weather forecasts there was no promise of sun but instead of clouds, rain and even snow. It didn't rain and it didn't snow, thank heavens. The sun didn't shine all the time and most of the time during our trip the weather was cloudy and friggin' cold. But nevermind that, our trip was extremely good.
